Why support will matter

A free global lookup tool has real operating costs. Support will help keep product recognition broad, evidence reviews current, submissions moderated, OCR useful, APIs within quota, hosting stable, and security maintained.

Hosting, OCR, and API quota

Barcode lookup, product catalogs, label reading, imports, server hosting, monitoring, and source-refresh jobs all need reliable infrastructure.

Source maintenance and evidence review

Records need public-source checks, company relationship review, source-date tracking, dispute handling, and methodology updates.

Moderation, security, and abuse prevention

Corrections and new evidence need human review, spam filtering, queue tools, security monitoring, and safeguards against rumor amplification.

OFC does not accept payments to add, remove, suppress, relabel, or prioritize records. Donors do not receive private results, faster corrections, badges, ranking influence, or evidence access. Large, restricted, or conflicted support may be declined or disclosed before acceptance.
